Global Racing Service took part on Formula 4 Spanish Championship season finale, held this weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The team wrapped up the season with positive feeling.
The weekend passed with different fortunes for our drivers, as it had happened throughout the season. Lorenzo Fluxá shown that he had pace to be in the top 5, while both Suleiman Zanfari and Álex García would fight for the points.
On Race 1, Fluxá gained three positions after a stellar start and claimed a positive sixth place, which yields us more points. García also gained places and reached twelfth position.
Sunday arrived and Fluxá qualified on seventh position for the final race. On Race 2, the shortest one, we struggled the most as we did not reach the Top 10. However, Fluxá added up another sixth position on a superb performance. García, on the other hand, came close to scoring points in a weekend where he deserved better.
Pace and results were better on this closing weekend than in the previous ones. It can be said that better results were deserved given the pace we were able to display. However, we keep the positive feeling and the satisfaction of a good job done by the team.
GRS completes its second full season in Formula 4 Spanish Championship by taking fourth on the teams’ standings and with a driver on sixth place on drivers’ final championship. We also achieved one podium finish and a Pole Position.
As for the results, the season might not have gone as expected, but we have grown as a team and gained valuable experience for the future. There is work to do and there is always room for improvement, but we are ready and excited for 2021, which will bring a new opportunity to show our potential.
