Round 5 of EuroCup-3 takes place this weekend at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto. GRS Team is delighted to confirm that Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov joins the team for the upcoming meeting after the summer break.
Tsolov, aged 16, is the current Formula 4 Spanish champion. The ‘Bulgarian Lion’ had a stellar debut season in single seaters with 13 race wins, 18 podiums and 15 pole positions. Nikola is a member of the Alpine Academy, and is part of A14 Management, the young talent management agency founded by Fernando Alonso.
This year, Tsolov raced in FIA Formula 3. Back in February this year, the Bulgarian raced on the final round of Formula Regional Middle East Championship, entered by a joint venture between GRS Team and R&B Racing. There, Tsolov had good results on what was his first ever Formula Regional race weekend.
The team was very satisfied with Tsolov’s performance that weekend. Now, we are working together again, looking to have an even better weekend in the new EuroCup-3 Championship. The series is establishing itself as a competitive alternative for the gap between Formula 4 championships and FIA Formula 3, and GRS will aim to be on top after obtaining a podium on the opening round in Spa-Francorchamps.
“I’m super happy and thankful for the opportunity to race this weekend in EuroCup-3 with GRS Team. It’s a new car and championship for me which makes it even more exciting but me and the team are working hard to fight for a good result!”.
Nikola Tsolov, driver #12
“It is great for the team to be back on the EuroCup-3 grid and having such a talented driver as Nikola is with us. In Abu Dhabi, we witnessed his great talent and potential, and we firmly believe that, together, we can be fighting on top in EuroCup-3. Thanks to Nikola and to A14 Management for trusting GRS Team”.
