Luis Carlos Pérez to race with GRS Team in Formula 4 Spain season finale

GRS is delighted to welcome Luis Carlos Pérez into the team. The Mexican driver will make his European racing debut in Formula 4 Spanish Championship season finale, which takes place in November 11-12 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Pérez, aged 20, makes the step into the Spanish championship after racing in Formula 4 NACAM, in Mexico, his birthplace, during the 2022 season. There, he achieved three podium finishes and ended the championship in P4 on the final standings. Throughout 2023, he has taken part in numerous testing sessions, many of them with GRS, ahead of his F4 Spain debut.

Born in Torreón, in the state of Coahuila, Pérez started his racing journey in different karting championships in both Mexico and the USA. Later, he jumped to Formula Vee Mexico, where he had the opportunity to race in single seaters for the first time. This experience played a crucial role in his development as a driver.

The driver from Coahuila will race in Formula 4 Spain at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, one of the most prestigious and recognised tracks in the World and current host of Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix. Pérez has already had the chance to drive at the track during the Collective Test held in November 2-3.

“Hugely thankful with life and with everyone supporting me, especially my family. Por me, Racing in Europe was something out of reach, but it is now a dream made true. Being the first driver from Laguna racing single seaters in Europe fills me with pride and satisfaction, and so does representing Mexico, Coahuila, and my beloved Laguna, proving that everything is possible with dedication, effort, and passion. My goal has always been to transcend, to leave a legacy, to open paths for the upcoming generations, and to grow as a community in racing”.

“We welcome Luis Carlos into the team with lots of excitement. We already had the opportunity to work alongside him in GRS, and the results were satisfactory. It is a pleasure to be with him on his first racing weekend in Europe, and we will work at our best so he can prove his potential on track”.
