As part of her preparation for the upcoming F1 Academy season, The Williams Drivers Academy member joins GRS to race in the first three rounds of the winter championship.
GRS Team welcomes Lia Block into the team. The American driver, member of the Williams Drivers Academy, will make her single seaters debut with GRS in Formula Winter Series, where she is set to race three rounds during the season at Circuito de Jerez, MotorLand Aragón and Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.
At the age of 17, Block’s young racing career features successful campaigns across different rallying and rallycross series. In 2023, Block won the American Rally Association O2WD National Championship, becoming the youngest ever driver to achieve the title on the series’ history. She also raced internationally as she took part on the second half of the Extreme E season.
Her Formula Winter Series participation will therefore be her single seater racing debut. Nevertheless, Block has had a limited amount of test days at the wheel on a Formula 4 car across Europe. Once her participation in F1 Academy was confirmed and she joined the Williams Drivers Academy, Block started a testing program with GRS Team with the goal of facing her debut as experienced and prepared as possible. The results have been so far satisfactory as the driver from the U. S. has shown significant progression and improvement.
“It has been great working with the GRS team, so I’m very happy to be racing these first 3 rounds of the F4 Spanish Winter Series with them. It will be my first ever race in a single seater so I’m excited to learn as much as possible to get ready for the upcoming F1 Academy season”.Lia Block, driver #57
