GRS Team races in Jarama for the first time

Round 6 of Formula 4 Spanish season took us to Jarama Circuit for the first time on the team’s history. The classic circuit in Madrid hosted the championship in a weekend that was heavily affected by unstable weather conditions and in which we struggled again to obtain good results.

The weekend format was unusual as on-track action started on Friday with Qualifying session 1 and 2. Our positions on these sessions were not what we wanted and we saw ourselves forced to gain positions one more time.

All three races were held on Sunday. Rain started to pour again and we had to face really difficult conditions. Race 1 was held on a damp track and we only managed to score one point thanks to Lorenzo Fluxá.

Race 2, the shortest and rainiest of the weekend, was the best moment of the weekend. Suleiman Zanfari proved once again his skills in tricky conditions and finished the race in a very solid sixth place while Fluxá scored again after being eighth.

The round ended after Race 3, held on dry conditions despite the presence of some water patches on track. It was a disappointing race as two of our cars had to retire. Zanfari, however, gave the team more points by being in tenth place at the end of the race.

It was a difficult weekend. The weather conditions turned the races into genuine survival trials. Despite the results were not what we expected, we keep working and giving it all to revert the situation. The championship is not over and we are ready to get to Barcelona and finish the season on the best possible way.

Formula 4 Spanish Championship will return next week. The season will come to and end in Barcelona – Catalunya Circuit.
