GRS completes last F4 Spanish weekend before summer break in Navarra

Round 3 of Formula 4 Spanish Championship took place this weekend. Navarra Circuit hosted a race weekend where GRS did not score points despite good race performance and improvement.

Our driver, Carl Bennett, continued his adaptation process on this competitive series. The Thai, recently announced as a new A14 Management member, gained mileage and experience in Friday’s collective test.

Free Practice proved that it was going to be a tough weekend, where every tenth would be crucial to gain positions, and track limits would be a key factor in qualifying sessions and races. Our difficulties were confirmed on Qualifying 1 as Carl was 25th.

His pace improved significantly on Race 1. There, Bennett completed several overtakes and took advantage on his rivals’ mistakes to climb up eight spots and finish on P17.

Second qualifying session took place on Sunday and Carl was 28th. Sunday’s races saw, again, good comebacks for our driver. He gained positions in both in order to cross the finish line in 22nd place.

We wrap up our weekend ready to keep working at our best, aware that these are not the results the team wants, but willing to make our biggest efforts to have a better second half of the season. We thank all GRS Team staff members for their excellent work every time we are on track.

Now, a long summer break lies ahead for F4 Spanish Championship. The series will be back in September 23-24 at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto. Earlier, in three weeks’ time, we will be back on track for round 4 of the EuroCup-3 season at Zandvoort Circuit.
