GRS completes first EuroCup-3 season

First ever EuroCup-3 season came to its end this weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. GRS completed a weekend in which the results were not brilliant but gave us lots of experience and confidence ahead of the future.

For the season finale, the team’s line-up consisted of Carl Bennett and Daniel Mavlyutov. The Thai American driver was on his second participation on the championship while the Turkish wrapped up his season after taking part in it part-time.

A collective testing session took place on Friday afternoon. The drivers had a first contact with the track before the real action started on Saturday. After the Free Practice sessions, it was time to qualify. Our drivers, still in learning process, ended up at the back of the grid. They, however, consistently closed the gap to their competitors.

In Race 1, Bennett finished once again, lapping at a good pace and gaining valuable mileage and experience on the championship. Mavlyutov had to retire after spinning and getting struck on the gravel. A similar pattern followed on Sunday in terms of performance. Bennett had to retire due to a puncture while Mavlyutov finished the race in 15th place.

Despite not scoring points, this weekend gave us an opportunity to keep improving and gaining experience. Our drivers made consistent progression, improving lap by lap. We wrap up the EuroCup-3 season in fifth place on the teams’ standings, facing 2024 with the goal of having better stability.

EuroCup-3 maiden season is now finished. We are satisfied in GRS with the job done, and with our contribution to the championship’s success on its debut. The series has undergone massive growth, which we expect to maintain in 2024. More news ahead of the upcoming season will be announced soon.
