Yas Marina Circuit hosted the final round of the Formula 4 UAE 2022 season. GRS Team finished its first participation at the Emirati series with one more points’ finish after a difficult championship.
The tests held before the start of the weekend proved that Vladislav Ryabov and the team had the pace to be among the Top 10. These feelings were confirmed when Vladislav secured ninth place in Qualifying 1. He was, however, 14th on the second session.
On Race 1, Vladislav dropped to 15th position on the opening laps. He then started setting an astonishing pace. He took advantage of other drivers’ incidents to reach P12. After that, he overtook to rivals and got into the Top 10. The driver in ninth was far, but the Russian driver cut the gap, lap after lap, until he caught him and passed him on the final lap. Unfortunately, a penalty dropped him back to 10th. However, he scored an extra point as he took the fastest lap of the race.
Despite his good racecraft, no further points were scored. The #26 driver did not finish on Races 2 and 4, while he did not reach the top 10 on Race 3. Ryabov concludes GRS Team’s participation in Formula 4 UAE with 20 points and a 19th position on the final drivers’ championship standings.
GRS Team’s venture in Formula 4 UAE was not easy. However, the team has acquired highly important experience with the new car. Now it is time to work towards Formula 4 Spanish Championship. The team faces a preparation process which is to begin favourably with all the things learnt throughout these five intense race weeks.
