Alexander Jacoby to make his Formula 4 debut with GRS Team

The young American driver, member of A14 Management, joins the team to race in Formula 4 Spanish Championship after a successful karting career.

It is with pleasure for GRS Team to announce the second driver who joins our line-up for the upcoming Formula 4 Spanish Championship season. American driver -with Brazilian and German descent- Alexander Jacoby joins the team to make his single seater racing debut. His season will start in Round 2 of the championship, in Portimao. Jacoby will not be able to contest the season opener at Circuito del Jarama due to age restrictions.

Jacoby comes into the team after having success in karting over the last years. He races across multiple international, European, and American series. There, in the USA, is where he achieved his best results, including a Top 10 finish in last year’s SKUSA SuperNationals, one of the most prestigious karting events in America. Recently, he joined A14 Management, Fernando Alonso’s drivers’ management agency, with whom GRS already worked in past occasions.

Now, Jacoby makes the next step on his career as he prepares for his car racing debut. The American already did several tests with the team throughout the last few months. These tests have been useful for his adaptation to the new car, driving style, to learn the tracks and progressively improve. His performance, efforts, and attitude towards facing this challenge impressed the team.

“I am excited to share that I will be racing the Spanish Formula 4 Championship with GRS Team. Racing is my passion, and I will work really hard to learn as much as possible in this coming year. I want to thank everyone at GRS and A14 management for their trust and support. Can’t wait to start the season!”.

Alexander Jacoby, driver.

“It is a pleasure for GRS to have Alexander in our drivers’ line-up. The testing programme we carried out over the last months was a success: the driver had a positive transfer from karting to Formula 4, had a serious working dynamic, and good chemistry with the team, which undoubtedly will help us all to give our best, so our season goes as planned. I would like to thank Alexander and A14 Management for their trust in GRS Team”.

Josep Trinidad, CEO & Team Manager.

Jacoby is set to make his racing debut on June 7-9, when the second Formula 4 Spanish Championship meeting will take place at Autodromo Internacional do Algarve. The season, however, will kick off one month earlier, on May 10-12 at Circuito del Jarama. That weekend, Jacoby will not have turned 15 years old, so he will not be able to race there.
