Formula 4 Spanish Championship season came to an end this weekend in Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. Global Racing Service wrapped up the season with an overall good feeling in round 7 of the championship.
The weekend went by with mixed results for our drivers, which has happened since the beginning of the season. Lorenzo Fluxá proved to have the pace to be fighting at the top 5 while Álex García and Suleiman Zanfari would be fighting for points.
In Race 1, Fluxá gained three positions after a great start and finished in a very positive sixth place that makes us score more points. García also made up positions to end up in thelfth place.
Sunday began well as Fluxá qualified in seventh position for Race 3. Race 2, the shortest one, was the toughest one for us as we were very unlucky and unable to place any of the cars withtin the Top 10. Fluxá, however, was great again in Race 3 and finished in sixth position. García was just one position away from scoring points. The Mexican driver deserved better in this weekend.
This was a weekend in wihch our pace and results were better than the previous two round. Our pace proved that we definitely deserved more. The overall feeling is, however, good. We did a good job at the team and we are generally satisfied.
GRS finishes its second full season in Formula 4 Spanish Championship. We have finished the teams' championship in fourth place, improving our 2019 result. We have also obtained a sixth place in drivers' championship as best result. The team's drivers stood once on the podium and took one pole position.
The season might not have been what we expected when it comes to the results. As a team, however, we have grown and obtained valuable experience ahead of the upcoming years. There is always work to do and room for improvement, but we are ready and looking forward for 2021 as we will have one more opportunity to show our potential.
